Junior Rugby Cavs Off To North Shore Final
David Speirs

The junior boys' rugby team posted a comprehensive win over Argyle today to advance to the North Shore Championship game on Friday.  Here is a report from Coach Hall:

The Collingwood Junior Rugby team secured a decisive victory in the North Shore semi-finals this week, putting on a clinical performance against Argyle. The win was a testament to the team’s cohesion, as they consistently worked the ball through phases to break down the opposition defense.

Collingwood’s forwards set the tone early with powerful running, forcing Argyle to commit defenders and opening up space on the edges. The backline took full advantage, moving the ball quickly through the hands to orchestrate several high-quality team tries.

By halftime, Collingwood had established a commanding 50-0 lead. The first-half scoring summary included:

Harrison: 3 tries
Liam: 2 tries
Tommy: 1 try
Aiden:1 try
Seb: 1 try

Connor provided reliable support from the kicking tee, connecting on 5 of 8 converts.

In the second half, Collingwood utilized their full bench, with nearly 40 players getting valuable minutes on the pitch. While the pace of the game shifted with the rotations, the team remained disciplined. Aiden added his second try of the match to extend the lead and cap off the scoring.

With the semi-final victory behind them, Collingwood now shifts their focus to the North Shore Championship. They are set to face Carson Graham in the final, where they will try to win their 4th straight banner.

Aiden O-Y scored two tries today.

The Connor D-Daniel S combination has been working all year for the Cavs.

Harry S led the way today with three first half tries.

Coach Evan Hall will be trying to lead the Junior Cavs to their 4th straight berth to the BC Championships on Friday.
