The Learning Commons

To adapt to today’s modern library spaces, we would like to utilize the current Commons to bring learning to the heart of the Senior School campus. Renamed to the Learning Commons, the space will continue to provide what the library always has – a space that can be utilized during classes for support with access to the tools and people resources that provide guidance and skill building. It will also serve as a visible, future-proofed space with access to the digitization of learning resources needed for research and analytical skills.

The Centre for Steem

Our present STEM and Entrepreneurship spaces markedly constrains collaboration and the creation, evaluation, and investigation stages of students’ work. The new Centre for STEEM will place emphasis on interdisciplinary, real-life, experiential learning providing students with the opportunity to collaborate, think critically, communicate effectively, and determine unique and creative solutions. With the creation of the Learning Commons that will become a new modern library space, the current Yasmin Karim Family Library will become Collingwood’s’ Centre for STEEM.
