Gr. 9 Winter Explore
December 12-15 marked the second week of Gr.9 Winter Explore! On Wednesday morning the students set off to Whistler Olympic Park for their 2 night winter camping adventure. They were fortunate enough to have sunny weather and beautiful trail conditions.
Students had an amazing time snowshoeing down the Wetland Wanderer trail where they learned about animal tracks and hoarfrost crystals. Fun was had making snow angels (a first for some!) and taking part in a massive snowshoe race. The students enjoyed skiing and many of the newbies picked it up quickly and easily. Nick landed jumps and did 360's! Student led lessons were engaging and feedback was thoughtful and specific. Some of the students were lucky enough to see the spectacular Geminids meteor shower!
Thank you for your ongoing support of the Explore Program.
