FAVOURITE COLLINGWOOD ARTS MOMENT(S):

1. Creating and filming the short series The Campus with my peers.

2. Singing & playing with the Sr. Jazz Band at the January Blues cabarets.

3. Playing Mrs. McGarrigle in The 39 Steps and getting to wear the most unbelievably hilarious costume!

ARTISTS WHO HAVE INSPIRED YOU OR FAVOURITE ARTIST:

The Beatles – They pushed the envelope regarding the structure of pop music and combined classical instruments with modern music in an insanely creative way!

Sylvia Plath – A passionate poet and author who inspires me to push my limits as an artist while also appreciating my emotions and taking care of myself.

Cole Porter – One of the biggest influences in musical theatre and jazz, as well as one of the most talented composers and lyricists of all time.

UNIVERSITY YOU ARE GOING TO NEXT YEAR:

The Glenn Gould School at the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, where I will be working toward my Bachelor of Music in Classical Voice Performance. I will be training under the chair of the voice department, Canadian soprano Adrianne Pieczonka.

FAVOURITE STYLE, GROUPS OR SHOWS YOU HAVE SEEN:

I love virtually all styles! As for shows, my personal favourites have been Mamma Mia on Broadway & Dear Evan Hansen on tour in Toronto.

TRAINING OUTSIDE & FAVOURITE SUMMER INSTITUTES/EVENTS:

I have trained at the VSO School of Music for the past 5 years with Diane King (voice) and Jillian LeBeck (piano). The school offers amazing year-round programs and summer intensives that I would absolutely recommend to musicians of all levels and genres!!
