Student Criteria:
- Good standing with work habits and academics (minimum B average)
- Strong record of positive behaviour both at school and extracurricular activities
- Demonstrated the ability to be responsible, organized and able to catch-up on ‘missed work’ (eg. tests, quizzes, projects, etc)
- Demonstrated an interest in service
- Must be physically able to complete both gentle and strenuous hikes
- Interest in learning about Jasper’s local wild animals and their natural habitats
- Enjoy the outdoors (regardless of the weather)
- Student must submit a strong application
- Student must meet all above criteria
Applicant Selection Process:
Selection is made based on the following criteria:
- 12 applicants will be selected in total
- We will strive to have a balanced gender selection
- Trip leaders and the Director of Service will make the final decision on the successful candidates in consultation with their homeroom teachers
- In the unlikely event that there are more than 12 equally qualified applicants, names of those in question will be selected at random to fill the 12 trip spots
