Collingwood Certificate

The Collingwood Certificate is awarded to students whose performance in the graduation program best reflects the high ideals embodied in Collingwood's four stranded philosophy. The certificate is presented in June by the Headmaster to grade 12 students at the commencement ceremonies.

A student must meet the criteria in each year to be eligible.

Grade 9

  • At least six (6) courses with grades of 60% or better, with no marks below 50%
  • No final work habit marks of NYM (not yet meeting) and at most, 2 MM (minimally meeting)
  • At least three courses from: Social Studies, Science, Math, Languages
  • Successful completion of Explore 9
  • Passing grade on service requirements on final report card
  • Honours grade on daily physical activity requirement on the final report card
  • A strong citizenship record

Grade 10

  • At least six (6) courses with grades of 60% or better, with no marks below 50%
  • No final work habit marks of NYM (not yet meeting) and at most, 2 MM (minimally meeting)
  • At least three courses from: Social Studies, Science, Math, Languages
  • A passing grade on service requirements on final report card
  • Honours grade on daily physical activity requirement on the final report card
  • A strong citizenship record

Grade 11

  • At least six (6) courses with grades of 60% or better, with no marks below 50%
  • No final work habit marks of NYM (not yet meeting) and at most, 2 MM (minimally meeting)
  • At least three courses from: Social Studies, Science, Math, Languages
  • An arts course in either grade 11 or 12
  • A passing grade on the service requirements on final report card
  • Honours grade on daily physical activity requirement on the final report card
  • A strong citizenship record

Grade 12

  • Meet the current B.C. Ministry of Education Graduation Program requirements
  • All marks at 60% or better
  • Successful completion of the Graduation Transitions Project
  • On the March report card no work habit marks of NYM (not yet meeting) and at most, 2 MM (minimally meeting)
  • At least two course from: Social Studies, Science, Math, Languages
  • An arts course in either grade 11 or 12
  • A passing grade on the service requirements on spring report card
  • Honours grade on daily physical activity requirement
  • A strong citizenship record

Note:

  • Graduating students that entered Collingwood after grade 9 are still eligible for the Collingwood Certificate. They must meet all of the relevant criteria during each year that they attend the school.
