Grad Fashion Through the Decades
Jill Slattery

Since 1989, Collingwood has sent a class of graduates off into the real world in style. The annual Grad Ball is the culmination of many years - for some, up to 13 - of hard work, growth, and memory-making. From corsages to bow-ties, and ball gowns to cummerbunds, Grad Ball fashion has most definitely evolved over the last 36 years.

You likely won't see too many puffy sleeves or shoulder pads at this year's Grad Ball, but go back almost four decades and it's a different story. Hop on board this time-machine and take a gander through the many eras of teenage fashion, from elegant gloves to bows and belts, bowties and big hair to mini-dresses and block heels. Does anyone still have some of this iconic taffeta hanging in the back of their closet?
