13. 40 Years of Philanthropy
Jill Slattery

For 40 years, Collingwood School has been generously supported by our parents—whether through time, talent, or treasure. Philanthropy was responsible for the School’s start up and has been an integral part of our culture throughout. As the school grew and our students began requesting new and diverse programming, equipment, and enhancements, the need to create an annual fund became apparent.

Today we call it the Tartan Fund, and since the early 90's this Annual  Fund has been the primary vehicle for our community, parents, staff, and alumni to support our school and ensure that our students have the resources, experiences and facilities needed to pursue their passion and become successful graduates.

The fund has grown from raising $79,000 annually to over $1,000,000 each year, providing access to amazing resources beyond what tuition and government grants can support. As of 2023, the Tartan Fund has raised $10 million since its inception, and it has also grown from 40% family participation in 2021 to 60% family participation in a few short years.

Our goal this year is 100% participation, and we invite YOU to help us get there by making a donation this week. What kind of things does the Tartan Fund support?
