Introducing our Next Head of School
Emily Greenberg

Emily Greenberg is a seasoned international educator and a leader in the Canadian independent school landscape, coming to us from a successful eight-year tenure as Head of School at Vancouver Talmud Torah. Her career is anchored in global experiences, having served in leadership and teaching roles across elementary and senior schools in Thailand, Colombia, Paraguay and Toronto. With a Masters of Science in Education and a fluency in French and Spanish, Emily brings a sophisticated, multilingual and culturally rich approach to school leadership.
Emily’s administrative portfolio is diverse, spanning both public and private schools within very large educational environments on the full K-12 continuum. Her experience navigating the complexities of both international and Canadian independent systems—including the management of Advanced Placement (AP) programs—gives her an edge in academic design and rigour. She is deeply committed to ensuring that Collingwood’s students are not only challenged in the classroom but are strategically positioned for success in their post-secondary futures.
With a proven track record of leading senior management teams through complex organizational changes, Emily also brings experience in school governance, having worked closely with Boards and Foundations to bridge philanthropic goals with educational excellence. Beyond the school gates, her leadership extends into the broader community, having served on the Board for YPO Canada (West), FISA and ISABC–a testament to her commitment to driving organizational excellence, partnerships and strategy.
A Message from the Chair
On behalf of the Board of Governors, it is my great privilege to announce the appointment of Emily Greenberg as the next Head of School at Collingwood, effective July 15, 2027.
The Board of Governors was impressed by the caliber of international interest this search generated. This was an expert-led process that attracted a deep pool of strong candidates from around the globe. Within this group, Emily stood out as the clear choice. Her unique blend of international experience, her history in diverse school systems, and her deep familiarity with the BC Curriculum and organizations like FISA, ISABC and CAIS make her uniquely qualified.

A Year of Celebration and Continuity
The upcoming year offers stability for our community. We are incredibly fortunate that our current Head of School, Ms. Lisa Evans, will continue to lead us through the 2026-2027 academic year.
Ms. Evans has been a cornerstone of the Collingwood community for 34 of our 41 years. This intentional, year-long transition period allows Emily to collaborate closely with Ms. Evans on the finalization of our next Strategic Plan while getting to know the Collingwood community.
