University Guidance

The University Guidance office helps students find a university that suits them well; however, it is also an opportunity for students to reflect, grow and learn about who they are. The students are at the center of this process from beginning to end. We expect them to take responsibility for meeting deadlines, researching schools, registering for tests and completing applications. We are here to support, encourage and counsel students as they navigate their many available post-secondary options.

While we spend a great deal of time working with students in Grades 11 and 12, we make our initial contact with our students in Grade 9. In addition to regularly scheduled individual meetings, we also hold group meetings for our more senior students addressing various topics related to the university search and application processes. We host evening sessions for parents in both the fall and spring terms to cover the fundamentals of applying to Canadian, American and international schools. We host over 60 universities each year to provide students the opportunity to meet university admission representatives to learn about the most up to date university programs and admission information.

Remember, you are the architect of your future. Think about your passions and where you wish to go after Collingwood. We are here to advise you in every way we can, and we invite you to call, email, or stop by with any questions, suggestions, or concerns you may have. Our doors are open and we invite you in.
