3 Track Stars Off To B.C. Summer Games
Brooke Mounsey, Hailey Szybunka and Michael Knowles have all qualified for the B.C. Summer Games. All three athletes performed very well for the Collingwood track program this year and each of them represented the school at the provincial championships. They kept this momentum going during the zone trials and were successful in their bid to make the team. This is quite an accomplishment since Zone 5 is very tough and includes Squamish-Lillooet, Sunshine Coast, the Greater Vancouver Regional District, the Village of Lions Bay, the City of North Vancouver, the District of North Vancouver, the City of Vancouver, and the District of West Vancouver.
Brooke will be participating in discus, javelin and hammer. Michael is competing in high jump and the 100 and 200m, while Hailey earned her berth in the 200m and relays.
