Ellis Shield Award Winners
The Ellis Shield is awarded annually to the Top Male and Female Athletes in the Middle School.
The female recipient is Kyla Jarrar. Although only in Grade 9, Kyla earned a starting role on the senior field hockey team through her excellent play. Considering that this team was one of the best in the province, this was no mean feat. Kyla then went on to play for the Grade 9 basketball team and was one of their top players. She finished the year starring on the senior tennis team. As the #1 female doubles player, Kyla won her second straight provincial gold medal.

The male recipient of the Ellis Shield is Roury Higgins. Roury was a three-sport athlete and a true team player in every sense of the word. Roury kicked off his year with some terrific play on the Grade 9 rugby team. He was an amazing lineout jumper and had great range around the field. Roury then went on to star on the Grade 9 basketball team. He was the team's top rebounder and his shot-blocking presence helped the team earn a berth in the North Shore Final. Roury finished the year on the track team where he competed in multiple events, but especially the high jump and 4 x 400 relay.
