Collingwood School is a Round Square Global Member, along with 90 member schools on five continents. The common goal is structured around developing the IDEALS: internationalism, democracy, environment, adventure, leadership and service. Collingwood is proud to be affiliated with Round Square, and our membership affords our students the opportunity to learn while building communities and friendships across the globe. Running parallel to our four-stranded philosophy, Round Square advocates providing students with a more complete educational experience through cultural, academic and spiritual experiences.
Personal growth and leadership development often happens outside of a school setting where students are exposed to new and challenging circumstances. Our students are encouraged to participate in the annual Round Square regional and global conferences (grades 8-12), international exchanges (grades 9-12), as well as local and global service projects. Through the Round Square committees, local opportunities for all ages are available for students to organize, lead or simply participate in throughout the year. These opportunities include shoreline clean-ups, soup kitchens, canned food drives, recycling bottle drives, and building homes with Habitat for Humanity, just to name a few. There are also international service projects to Belize (November) and India (March Break) for students in grades 10-12.
